There are lots of acronyms and jargon used by the Media Networks. Here are some of the more frequently used terms to get you started.

Ad inventory
Ad inventory provides available space for ads on a website or platform.
Avails
Avails refer to the available inventory of a publisher or platform’s ad slots.
BMAD
A radio network term for Breakfast, Morning, Afternoon and Drivetime radio.
BMADE
A radio network term for Breakfast, Morning, Afternoon, Drivetime and Evening radio.
BVOD (Broadcast Video on Demand)
BVOD is when you want television online, through the internet, on any internet enabled device.
Connected TV
These are simply televisions that are internet enabled.
CPM (Cost per thousand)
This is one way of understanding the true value of a spot or impression on media channels.
CPC (Cost per click)
CPC is the cost per click, which is the amount an advertiser pays for each person who clicks on their ad.
CTR (Click through rate) 
CTR is the rate at which someone clicks on an ad. It’s calculated by dividing the number of people who clicked on an ad by the total number of people who saw the ad.
Impression
Impressions refer to the number of times the audience sees an ad. In media buying, this metric measures the reach of an ad campaign.
Linear (live)TV
Linear TV is any television not viewed via the Internet. It is the normal television we are used to watching commonly known as Broadcast TV. Linear TV is received via an aerial, satellite or cable. 
Live streaming
Live Streaming is watching television through the internet, rather than an aerial or satellite. This includes the option of watching on mobile devices.
Media mix
The media mix combines media used in ad campaigns, such as television, radio, print, and digital ads.
Net reach
Net reach is the total number of people an ad campaign reaches after considering the audience overlap between different platforms and websites.
Post analysis
Refers to the analysis (qualitative or quantitative) undertaken after the appearance of specified advertisements – assessment of an ad campaign's delivery. Media Brokers Australia can provide post analysis reports from the networks during/after your campaign.
ROS (run of site)
Run of site is a term used by media networks for adverts that can appear anywhere on the network at any time of the day.
SVOD (Subscription Video on Demand)
This is paid/subscription viewing, such as Netflix, Prime, Apple+TV. Generally there is no advertising on these platforms, however this is changing and some providers now offer cheaper subscription options which include some Ads.
TARP (Target audience rating point)
A TARP is the percentage of a specific target audience viewing a program at the time. Cost per TARP is simply the dollar cost of advertising within a program divided by the number of TARPs it will/does achieve.
Target audience
The target audience is the group of people marketers are trying to reach with their ad campaigns.
